by Liss Platt and Kathy High
(1995) 6 minutes, SD video, Color, Sound
An exploration of the intimate relationship soap opera viewers have to their ‘shows.’ From a visit with co-producer Liss Platt’s family (200 years combined viewing) to a fan event at a Santa Monica beach, Soap Opera looks at the way soaps can become an extension of our world.
This short was created as part of the three-part PBS documentary series Signal to Noise: Life with Television (Executive Producer Cara Mertes).
