Sweet Repeat (2003, 2007, 2012), installation of commercially printed 6” x 4” color postcards

In this project I tiled an entire room with postcards of Life Saver candies. Besides exploring patterns and modularity, the piece overwhelms the viewer with ‘too much of a good thing,’ and becomes a sort of candy-padded room – Willy Wonka gone terribly wrong.

Originally installed for the Hallwalls Contemporary Art Centre exhibition Artists and Models XX in Buffalo, NY in 2003, versions of this piece were included in a solo exhibition titled Comfort at YYZ in Toronto in 2007 and in a solo exhibition titled You Can’t Get There From Here at Rodman Hall Art Centre in St. Catherines in 2012.
