Relic Sculptures

As our consumption of fossil fuels hits its peak capacity, these geri cans speak to our unconscious enthrallment of petroleum-based products both in their form as well as their decoration (plastic being a petroleum-based material). Images of the gas lines of the ‘70s often showed people filling geri cans. These sculptures could be seen as what might be the sad reminder of a warning unheeded.
